I drew today at Madison Square Park. It was a beautiful day and as it turned out there was a reception for the sculptor Roxy Paine who sculpted the steel trees in the park. The “trees” will be there all year. I asked one of the caretakers if it was a wedding party and she told me it was a reception for Roxy Paine. She asked me if I liked the trees. I said I did. I thought they were wonderful. She liked them too! She said that because of the steel trees it made her look more closely at the “real” trees. I had to agree. It’s by contrast that we see things differently. Kind of neat!
They look like they’re dancing – Tango perhaps?
That’s what I’m thinking! They’re wonderful to look at – more engaging than I had first thought. I’ve spent a bit of time trying to figure out where the tangled web they weave all started!
Or they’re “Tangoed web” – hee hee
Yeah! Even better! Say “Tangled tangoed web” three times quickly!
Apparently the sculpture is named, “Conjoined”.
